Trying again

Ok, I have seriously gained a little over 10 pounds since the summer.
I HAVE to do something about this for several reasons.
1. My clothes don't fit the same.
2. I feel gross and disgusting
3. If I don't do something now it will just be 15, then 20...ugh!
4. I want to be HOT.

I got on the scale today and its 166. I used to be 154 in my skinniest, I am training for a marathon days. And would like to go way down from that. But let just do small potatoes.

So here's to this blog...i hope nobody still reads it, if so suprise I am back. I might be posting unfiltered things on here...just an FYI.

So here's to another attempt at dieting. WOOT. WOOT.

Yay!! I still haven't started working out yet because it's been too cold to run, but I feel like I am having good self control during the week! Oh and I am still soda free in 2008!!!

I am really late in posting this! Especially since tomorrow I will update you on this last week. Even though I gained a tad, I was perfect OK with it! I was in Virginia all week and honestly was that much in control of my food. And with traveling and stuff, your body just gets off. I was proud of myself however because I really really really really wanted a Dr. Pepper, BUT i resisted the whole time!! They even had all sorts of cookies and fatty snacks for all the breaks and i resisted!! So even though i gained slightly...my self control was great! I was proud of myself!!

Total Loss 4.4lbs!!

I am so excited about my loss this week! A little suprised but very happy. This week, I pretty much avoided all carbs and most sugars. I plan to do the same this week as well. My friend Julie was in town- so it made it a little more difficult. So I am happy with the results! This next week, I will be in Virginia...so hopefully it will continue to go well!! It's Going to Be Great in 2008!

It's been a WHOLE semester since the last time I blogged on here! With every new year comes New Year's Resolutions...and of course I have my own personal weight loss goals!

My 2008 Goals-

1. Weigh between 130 - 140 lbs. This depends on where my body is comfortable. I have never weighed less than 138 in my life. So I think this is a healthy goal for now. This I think will take me from a size 10 to a size 6. We will see!

2. I want to get to where I run 15-20 miles a week. I have a running partner, Stephanie, and we are going to work on it together!

3. I want to be Soda Free in 2008. It is day 4 and so far so good. This is a huge stretch for me because I really like soda. But I think it's time for it to go. Moment of Silence friends.

My Motivation-

My family started another weight-loss competition "The Biggest Family Loser". It starts January 7 and ends May 7th. Right now, the pot is at $800 and might get as high as $1,000 dollars!! OH yeah baby! This time the competition is based on who loses the most percentage of body fat rather than a specific number of pounds.

I will be posting my first wiegh in on January 7th! Yes...I will be humbling myself and posting my weight! Keep it in mind!

August 9- Weigh In

I feel like I am back to where I was before I left for vacation over a month ago! Let's see if I keep losing. I am already so much more active than I used to be here...so it feels good to walk around a lot more and BE ACTIVE!!!

I am officially back & in buisness!!!

Well, I have been back from my vacation for about two weeks now! I have been meaning to get on here and blog my weight and get back on the ball for awhile, but I kept forgetting to weigh myself in the morning, and then when I did... I forgot to blog. What to do?

So it is late at night and I usually weigh in the morning, but I honestly want to do this post to get back on some accountability. I guess it will just seem like I lost more since I weighed at night and not in the morning. So here is the damage from my vacation days and NOT dieting. I noticed that I forgot to put my last weigh-in so I guess I will just go with the last one I posted but i think i was down 2 or 3 lbs from that...can't remember.

June 20 - 155.2
July 27- 156.8

It was fun to be in Thailand and wear a bikini in Bali and not feel fat! It was great! I had so many people encourage me and tell me how great I looked. I guess that made it all worth it- despite the fact that I didn't win the competition. I had one friend even tell me she coveted my arms...never had anyway say that before! I felt honored. Although I feel content for the most part where I am...I want to keep losing. So let's see how this goes.

I will also be traveling in the next month. While I am visiting Amber she informed that we would eat healthy! So that helps a lot and is actually great for me too!! I will try to keep you posted!!

Skinny Minnie Competition Update

As many of you know, I put together the Skinny Minnie Competition among 6 co-workers. We each put in $50 making the jack pot $300. The competition started April 1st and ends July 1st (which is in 5 days). The jack pot goes to anyone who meets their weight loss goal. So it is split by those who achieve it.

My personal goal- 14 lbs
Weight loss as of today- 11.6

Missed my goal by 2. 4 lbs (there is still 5 days)

Honestly... I am pretty bummed about missing my goal by just 2.4 lbs! Damn. I am trying to have a good attitude about it. It was a lot of hard work to miss it by 2. 4 lbs. I have been pretty bummed but I am trying to remember that even though I didn't win the cash, I still get the prize of being almost 12 lbs lighter!! Thanks for all your support and encouragement.

I will be leaving for Thailand and Bali tomorrow (slight chance today). I will not be updating and I will be enjoying beef, Starbucks, good quality American food, cheesecake and 7eleven slurpies. So i plan to have some weight gain, but I plan to continue losing after I get back. So keep checking back to this website!!

I know that my friend April has achieved her goal and lost over 17lbs!!! I am so proud of her. You have worked hard and I am glad you were able to meet your goal!!!

Total: +1.2 lbs

My apologies for not blogging and posting my weight in over two weeks! Shame on me! My parents completely surprised me and came to visit Delhi and so I didn't take the time to weigh-in or rather even remember to do it.

Because my parents were here, my diet kind of went by the wayside because we ate out a lot. Pretty disappointing, but they were definitely worth it!! Therefore, I have gained over a pound. BUT I still have about 10 days till the competition is over- so I plan to keep persevering and working towards that $300!!

I would like to say, that I am feeling really good about myself. I took tons of pictures these past 10 days with my parents here and it felt good to like the way I looked in all my pictures!! I can definitely see the difference. Even though it is showing that I have lost lbs- I still feel like I am loosing inches. My clothes continue to fit looser and looser!! Yay.

I leave for Thailand and then Bali a week from today. I plan to eat lots of beef and Starbucks- so the diet will fall by the wayside until I get back.

Total Loss- 3.6 lbs!!!

I am super excited about this weeks progress!! I knew it would be 2 lbs, but the 3rd lb was a suprise. This week, I went back to phase I of the South Beach Diet and I have also been sick all day Saturday and Sunday (i have been peeing out my butt). So I guess the combination of the two made for a great weight loss!! yay. This puts me in good standing to have a chance to still win the competition!

This is God's sweet sweet grace upon my life that I lost weight. I only worked out once and I went off my diet for 4 days! I ate all sorts of crap. Maybe my body needed the metabolism jump start! I am working extra hard this week. Let's see what happens in a week!!! Thanks again for all your support these days!!!

My Diet Meltdown

So this week, I had a diet Alicia melt down. I was discouraged to say the least about my Skinny Minnie Competition. I have done pretty good with my weight loss since January (about 16 lbs) but since April 1 I have only lost a little over 6 lbs. So really, I have only 5 weeks left to loose about 8 lbs. So pretty much, I have lost the competition. Suck. I think my body has kind of plateaued which is bad timing and typical of weight loss.

So anyways...I decided to take about a 3 days diet break! I can honestly say that I feel like a NEW woman. I felt like a little kid at Christmas as I ate a roll. It tasted like heaven in my mouth!! It was amazing. Then I took a spoonful of icing and sprinkled coconut and ate it and...yes...I feel restored. It has felt really good to eat all the things that have been off limits for the past 5 months. I think its enough to keep me going till the end of the competition. I already feel like I have a new focus and new excitement.

This is a picture that was taken yesterday at the American Idol party. I thought that I could see a lot off improvement and it encouraged me. I think I just need to stay focused and just work hard to the end. I also haven't posted a picture of myself in awhile.

Please pray for me. I can get really discouraged when I look at people around me who never struggle with weight issues. I know balancing my weight if a life time goal. Pray that God gives me great and endurance to keep loving dieting and learning self-control and discipline!!

I still plan to wiegh-in on Monday. Let's see what happens. My fingers are crossed.
